Three Virginia Tech football players add to preseason accolades

Three Virginia Tech football players added to their preseason accolades Thursday with the release of the watch lists for two more national awards.

Linebacker Bruce Taylor and cornerback Kyle Fuller are two of 84 players under consideration for the Bronco Nagurski Trophy, given annually to the nationa’s top defensive player. Earlier this week, both Taylor and Fuller were named to the Bednarik Award watch list, which is also for the top defensive player in the country.

Center Andrew Miller, meanwhile, was one of 71 players named to the Outland Trophy watch list, the second time in three days he has garnered consideration for a national award. The Outland Trophy is given annually to the nation’s best interior lineman on offense or defense.

On Tuesday, Miller was named to the watch list for the Rimington Award, which is given to the nation’s top center.
