‘Congress’? Never heard of it; a scramble on egg lobbying; (read-this roundup)

(Joshua Roberts/Bloomberg)

The “C” word — Among the endless TV ads members of Congress are running this election cycle, one word you’re unlikely to hear: “Congress.” Seems candidates are leaving out references to Congress, House and Senate.

Scrambled lobbying — Who knew there could be so much drama over egg policy? Our colleague Dan Eggen has the story of a new egg-farmer advocacy organization that critics say is a front (a shell group?) for the pork industry. We knew bacon and eggs went well together.

Soft landing — Former GOP presidential candidate Jon Huntsman is joining Brookings.

Good/bad — Good news: Cab fare is getting a buck cheaper. Bad news: “Good Humor bar shortage hits ice cream trucks.”
