Congressional fundraising frenzy kicks into high gear

Here’s a sampling of events just on Tuesday that we got invites to. (Donation range is from $1,000-$2,500.)

Sen. Jack Reed (D-R.I.) hosted an 8 a.m. breakfast at Bistro Cacao while Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine) followed with a breakfast at the Monocle just a half hour later.

Don’t stuff yourself because Sen. Thad Cochran (R-Miss.) was hosting a “summer luncheon.” Rep.Tom Price (R-Ga.) and others from the Georgia delegation are throwing their annual Georgia Peach Party from 4.p.m to 5:30 p.m.

Plenty of time to get to Arkansas Democratic Sen. Mark Pryor’s excellent Margarita party at 6 p.m., to stagger over to a Rep. Rick Nolan (D-Minn.) event on the Hill and to drop by another one for Sen. Pat Roberts (R-Kan.).

You might be a little late, though, to hang with Rep. Ted Poe (R-Tex.) at the Nats Park for the 7:05 against the D-Backs. (Gio’s on the mound.)

Of course, you can skip all these and just write checks.
