Jay Carney issues rapper challenge; E-mails from Gitmo; and ex-members probe aliens-- the extraterrestrial kind (read-this roundup)

Here’s what the Loop is reading today:

— Sounds like a challenge to us: In clarifying that the White House did not clear rapper Jay-Z’s Cuba trip (in contrast to one of his lyrics) and that clearance is the purview of the Treasury Department, White House spokesman Jay Carney declared: “I guess nothing rhymes with treasury.”

— Somebody’s reading e-mails from Gitmo.

— This is going to be fun: A group of ex-members of Congress are getting paid to hold a mock congressional hearing about extraterrestrials.
