Obama bundler Mamet tapped for Argentina post

Mamet, who had been a national finance director for former House Democratic Leader Richard Gephardt from 1995 to 2003, raised at least $1.3 million for the Obama campaign. (His total trailed just behind Boston lawyer Robert Sherman, according to a New York Times calculation in mid-2012, who got tapped for Portugal last week.)

Al Kamen, an award-winning columnist on the national staff of The Washington Post, created the “In the Loop” column in 1993.
