The Washington Post

The best video you will see from this year’s Republican and Democratic conventions

View Photo Gallery: Democrats gather in Charlotte for a third day to hear from the party’s leaders and rising stars.

The Washington Post’s AJ Chavar shows how, even as both parties outlined their political differences, their preparation, pomp and circumstance were eerily similar.

In the video, Chavar outlines how everything from the signage to the staging and the tenor of the speakers’ voices were almost entirely the same. It ends with Romney and Obama, side by side saying, “I accept your nomination for president of the United States.”

It’s a great way to spend a minute on a post-convention Friday afternoon.
