I ventured over to Bishop McNamara High School in Prince George’s County on Wednesday morning to talk with journalism students and was amused to see that many seniors had posted their college acceptance letters on their lockers. Some had just one or two pieces hung up, while other lockers were covered from top to bottom. I saw lots of letterhead from the University of Maryland and Towson University.

The trend has been around for about two years, according to an article in the Stampede student newspaper written by Danielle Gibson. This year, letters started going up in December as colleges made their early decisions. Gibson also put together this video to explain the Catholic high school’s newest tradition:
