Baltimore police said they shot a bull Friday morning after it escaped from a nearby slaughterhouse.
Police referred to it as a bull, but subsequent news reports called it a steer. The animal was shot near Charles and Biddle streets, police said. Investigators are trying to figure out how the animal got away. There were no traffic delays — okay, maybe some stares. And no one was injured, police said.
It did generate plenty of chatter on social media:

Baltimore police called the animal “increasingly aggressive” and that officers “made numerous attempts to trap it.”
“The bull was shot by officers & the Force Investigation Team is handling the information,” according to their tweet.
