A whopping 95 percent of D.C. area residents surveyed by Liberty Mutual Insurance believe that the city is taking action to ensure pedestrian safety.

With a citizen satisfaction score so high, Washington earned a spot in the top three on the insurance company’s list of America’s safest cities for walkers.

Seattle came in first place, and Boston came in second.

The list was based on a combination of safety statistics, such as the number of pedestrian deaths, and public opinion. No word on how many Washingtonians were polled; across the country, the company said, 2,500 people participated.
