Rolling Stone released a statement Friday about its story detailing an alleged brutal gang rape at a University of Virginia fraternity.

Will Dana, Rolling Stone’s managing editor, wrote “In the face of new information, there now appear to be discrepancies in Jackie’s account, and we have come to the conclusion that our trust in her was misplaced.”

The Post reported Friday that the fraternity rebutted claims that appeared in the published report.
