“He’s fighting for people like me,” said Edwards, who relayed her struggles after college as a single mom without health insurance.
When a cold turned into pneumonia, Edwards said she nearly lost her home to foreclosure because of medical bills.
“I support President Barack Obama because he gets it,” Edwards said.
She was the latest in a string of Maryland Democrats to address the convention this week, including Gov. Martin O’Malley, Sen. Barbara A. Mikulski, Rep. Chris Van Hollen and House Minority Whip Steny H. Hoyer.
