The itinerary for O’Malley, who is traveling with a 68-member delegation from Maryland, includes a series of speeches and meetings with government and industry leaders from the three countries.

“As our economy grows ever more global, we know we must look beyond our borders for new avenues for trade and investment, particularly those where we share strengths in life sciences and technology,” the governor said in a statement released by his office.

Among the events that O’Malley is slated to address are the 13th Shanghai BioForum, which is expected to draw more than 500 global attendees, and the Global Bio & Medical Forum, South Korea’s largest annual biopharmaceutical conference with 650 expected attendees, according to O’Malley’s office.

The governor plans to return to Maryland June 11.
