Late Tuesday, after posting the account of my interview with him, D.C. Council member and now mayoral candidate Vincent B. Orange texted me with some umbrage.

He objected not to what I had written, but to what I had chosen to illustrate my post: a roughly 18-month-old photograph of Orange, one that showed him at an earlier stage of his weight loss that now stands at 50 pounds and counting.

So he offered the following photos, which I gladly share, along with a pledge to get some more current snapshots in The Washington Post archives.
