Chien-Ming Wang, who is guranteed $3 million since signing with the Nationals in the spring of 2010 despite major shoulder surgery in 2009, allowed only one hit through four scoreless inning while walking two batters and striking out two in the Potomac Nationals’ 14-1 win on Saturday night.
Wang, who’s last major league start came in 2009 with the New York Yankees, reportedly reached 91 MPH in the fourth inning of Saturday’s game.
It was Wang’s second outing in his rehabilitation stint with Potomac. Last month, Wang pitched three inning for Hagerstown, Washington’s Single-A affiliate on June 27. He allowed two earned runns on four hits, striking out three and walking none on 49 pitches.
