Since he came off the disabled list July 1, despite starting only seven games, Ankiel is 13 for 36 with two doubles, two home runs and three walks, good for a 1.008 OPS. Johnson still considers Bernadina his regular center fielder, but Ankiel hit his way into the lineup and Johnson thought Bernadina could use a day off.
