As batting practice began today, Ryan Zimmerman walked past a member of the Nationals’ ownership group, who asked him, “So what are you going to do today?” Zimmerman replied, “Play a game, see what happens.” A day later, he remained nonchalant about his latest walk-off homer.

The Nationals head into tonight having experienced rare success against the Phillies. They have won four of their five games against the Phillies, a team that has dominated them for five years. John Lannan, who starts tonight, started the only game the Phillies won.

Lannan’s struggles against the Phillies have been well documented. Here’s the best way to describe it: In his career, Lannan is 36-46 with a 3.99 ERA. If you removed his 15 starts against the Phillies, he would be 35-35 with a 3.77 ERA.

As always, talk about the game right here.
