After placing catcher Ivan Rodriguez on the 15-day disabled list and announcing reliever Cole Kimball is scheduled to have season-ending surgery for a torn right rotator cuff, the Washington Nationals will try to get back on the winning track against Colorado.

Last night Washington blew an eight-run lead in a 10-9 loss to the Chicago Cubs, failing to sweep the four-game series at Nationals Park.

The Rockies, meantime, have lost five in a row, t he longest active streak in the majors, but they are getting back outfielder Carlos Gonzalez, who had been out since Sunday with a right wrist injury.

John Lannan gets the start for the Nationals. The left-hander had not allowed more than three runs since May 21, which also was the last time he lost. Since then Lannan has gone 3-0 with a 1.92 ERA in eight starts, five of them quality.

As always, talk about the game right here.
