The Nationals will try to rebound from their worst loss of the season last night, when Atlanta took advantage of five errors, including three in the first inning, for an 11-1 victory.
Washington Manager Davey Johnson said errors don’t bother him because they are physical mistakes. It’s the mental mistakes the really get to him, although another error-filled game could cause him to reconsider.
John Lannan makes his first start for the Nationals since departing his last outing on July 8, when a line drive struck him in the face and forced him after 3 1/3 innings.
The Braves counter with Tommy Hanson, who has matched a career high with five consecutive wins but is 2-2 against the Nationals with a 2.94 ERA.
As always, talk about the game right here.
