Ian Desmond out of lineup for fourth straight game

It’s about 5:15 p.m. and the tarp is on the field because of rain, winds and lightning. About two hours prior, Jayson Werth took early batting practice, along with Chad Tracy, and looked impressive. Werth has been out since early May with a broken left wrist and could soon begin minor league rehab assignments. Shortstop Ian Desmond is out of the lineup for the fourth straight game with an oblique strain.. The Nationals face a right-hander, Chris Young (2-3, 4.28 ERA).
