Washington’s offensive outpouring during Friday’s 17-5 victory at Baltimore marked the second time in franchise history that the team had recorded six home runs and 17 runs in a single game. The only other time occured July 30, 1978 in a Montreal Expos 19-0 win at Atlanta.

The Nationals also became the fourth team in MLB history to tally as many as 17 runs in a game after being shut out during its two previous contests, according to Elias Sports Bureau. Before last night, it hadn’t happened since May 26, 1964.
