Ryan Zimmerman continues his tear through opponents’ pitching, which he attributes to finally being fully healthy from a torn abdominal muscle that forced him to miss 58 games earlier this season. In the past six games, Zimmerman has hit .500 (12-for-24), two doubles, three home runs, eight RBI and scored five runs — enough to be named National League Co-Player of the Week, the second such recognition of his career.

Rick Ankiel takes the day off and Brian Bixler will play center field and bat second. After three straight losses, starter Ross Detwiler (1-3, 2.87 ERA) takes the mound for the Nationals in the first game of a four-game series against the Diamondbacks.

The two teams met for a four-game series in early June and split it.
