Jayson Werth has the day off in today’s day game following a night game. He spent last night running all over the outfield, and he’s still in the latter stages of getting his legs into regular-season shape. Just rest for him, and he could pinch-hit. The Nationals are 10-0 in games Werth has appeared in since he returned Aug. 2. Bryce Harper will play center as he tries to snap his second-half funk.

The Nationals are trying for only their second nine-game winning streak since baseball returned to Washington. They won nine in a row on their way to a 10-game tear in the first half of 2005.
