Today’s Nationals lineup

The Nationals have the Tigers in Viera today. Danny Espinosa is sitting out, which is not an indication of the health of his bruised right foot, Manager Jim Riggleman said. Ivan Rodriguez isn’t playing today, either, which could be a sign that the Nationals are being careful with his strained left calf. He was originally in today’s lineup. Rodriguez was walking gingerly, with ice wrapped around his leg, yesterday after catching four innings. He said his calf “was perfect.”

Meanwhile, Ryan Zimmerman will take batting practice today for the first time since he tweaked his groin Tuesday morning before being scratched from the lineup. Riggleman is still deciding if Zimmerman will return to game action before or after Wednesday, the Nationals’ off day of the spring.

And here’s the lineup:

1. Nyjer Morgan, DH

2. Rick Ankiel, CF

3. Jayson Werth, RF

4. Adam LaRoche

5. Wilson Ramos, C

6. Roger Bernadina, LF

7. Jerry Hairston, 3B

8. Alex Cora, 2B

9. Aberto Gonzalez, SS

— Tom Gorzelanny, SP
