Today’s Nationals lineup

As expected, Ryan Zimmerman was activated Tuesday off the disabled list and returns to the Nationals’ lineup for the first time since April 9. He returns to his regular spot, third base and batting third.

The Nationals continue with their creative fiddling to their batting order, leaving Jayson Werth at leadoff and having the pitcher, Yunesky Maya, hit eighth for the third straight game.

Jaime Garcia will start for the St. Louis Cardinals.
