Today’s Nationals lineup

Having hit home runs in two straight games, Jonny Gomes will start for the fourth consecutive game, with Laynce Nix still sitting. Nix had the flu, but he’s over that. The extended time without a start does give him a chance to rest his ailing Achilles’ tendon. Jesus Flores will start in place of Wilson Ramos on Ramos’s 24th birthday. Rodrigo Lopez is on the mound for the Cubs.
