How to feed a teen boy, nutritiously and inexpensively

From elsewhere in The Post: Columnist Jennifer LaRue Huget’s son is not lacking in appetite. At 14 years old and 5-foot-8, “his primary activity lately seems to be scavenging for food,” says Huget, the Eat, Drink and Be Healthy columnist. To keep her growing son eating healthful food without draining the family budget, Huget spoke with Georgia Orcutt, author of the 2007 book “How to Feed a Teenage Boy” (Celestial Arts/Ten Speed Press).

Teaching him cooking skills, adding smoothies to his diet and rationing protein intake are just a few of Orcutt’s suggestions. Read Huget’s story on feeding teen boys to hear more from Orcutt and other experts.
