Not sure what to expect when she’s expecting

From elsewhere in The Post: A woman dreads telling her mother she’s pregnant because the soon-to-be grandmother resents the career sacrifices she made to raise children.

She gave up several careers to take care of us, and while she realizes it was her decision, she was strong-armed a bit and her marriage has always been about what my dad wants. So I think she thinks I’ll be repeating her mistakes,” says the expecting mom in a letter to advice columnist Carolyn Hax.

Hax tells the reader how to coyly say the pregnancy was not meant to bring dismay, only joy.
