Portable pools pose dangers to kids

From elsewhere in The Post: Between 2001 and 2009, 209 children under the age of 12 died after becoming submerged in portable pools, says a study from the journal Pediatrics. Jennifer LaRue Huget, who writes the Checkup blog, says that the study is the first to review pediatric deaths and non-fatal “submersion events” in portable pools. In some cases, children drowned in as little as 1 inch of water, the study says.
