Scribner said the book, due out Nov. 15, will be called “Gabby: A Story of Courage and Hope,” and will be a ”deeply personal” account of Giffords’ political career, her husband’s work as an astronaut, the couple’s courtship and life together, the shooting and Giffords’ recovery.

The memoir was written with Jeffrey Zaslow, the co-author of “The Last Lecture,” a much-loved book based on Carnegie Mellon computer science professor Randy Pausch’s final lecture — focused not on death but on achieving childhood dreams — which Pausch delivered after his diagnosis with pancreatic cancer.
