Michele Reinhart and Jean Price, both of whom are Montana state legislators, filed a lawsuit against Greg Mortenson yesterday, reports The Daily Beast. The two allege the author and his charity defrauded them.

The lawsuit is one more dig at a once-celebrated author brought low by accusations that he lied about events in the book and has mismanaged money given to his charity.

Reinhart wants the $12 she spent on Mortenson’s book back in her pocket.

“Michele Reinhart would not have purchased the book ‘Three Cups of Tea’ had she known that Mortenson’s public statements and books were based on fabricated information,” reads the complaint.

Price, meanwhile, wants the donation she made to Mortenson’s charity, the Central Asia Institute, returned to her.

Attorneys are seeking class-action status for their suit. If successful, Mortenson and his charity could be out millions of dollars, notes The Daily Beast. But attorneys are requesting that any damages awarded in such a class-action suit be used build schools in Afghanistan and Pakistan.
