At 9 a.m. — The Case-Shiller home price index is released. The index is projected to show a 0.5 percent drop in prices in 20 major cities in January, a slight acceleration in the pace of decline from December and a reminder that the housing sector remains in poor shape.

At 10 a.m. — The Conference Board releases its consumer confidence report for March.

At 3 p.m. — The GOP holds a press conference to unveil its proposals for overhauling the nation’s housing policy.
