At 8:30 a.m. — The Commerce Department releases data on durable goods for March.

At 12:30 p.m. — The Federal Open Market Committee announces its decision on interest rates and QE2.

At 2:15 p.m. — Federal Reserve Chairman Ben S. Bernanke will hold a news conference where he will answer questions from reporters. It is the first regularly scheduled news conference in Fed history. From now on, such gatherings are set to occur four times a year.
