Friday’s p-Op quiz: ‘Chocolate goodies’ edition

Was it just me or did it feel like Friday back on Tuesday? Republicans were still clubbing President Obama over his “doing fine” flub from last Friday. Democrats were ginning themselves up into a full panic over Obama’s reelection chances. And both Mitt Romney and Obama gave speeches on the economy. Obama gave his to hopefully change the horrible trajectory of the conversation about his financial stewardship. Romney gave his to hopefully keep the pressure on the incumbent.

Meanwhile, JP Morgan Chase CEO went to Capitol Hill to say, “whoopsie” over that lost $2 billion. Attorney General Eric Holder went to Capitol Hill to say he wasn’t going to accept lawmakers’ invitation to resign. And Romney went to a campaign event at the Main Street Cafe in Council Bluffs, Iowa, where he forgot the word “doughnut” and instead asked for “one of those chocolate, um, uh, chocolate goodies...”

If that brain freeze were a confection, it would be a delightful swirl of sad and hilarious. But there are worse things. Unlike you, he could fail this week’s p-Op quiz. So, sharpen your pixels and get crackin’.
