House passes budget: ‘Are you kidding me?!’

My reaction to the startling news that the House easily passed a two-year budget and did so with a lot of Democratic votes can be summed up by Speaker John Boehner.

Are you kidding me?!

That’s what I thought, too. Are you kidding me that this couldn’t have been done ages ago? Such as during the fiscal crises of 2011, 2012 and 2013?! Boehner’s exasperated comment came as he recounted the ill-fated strategy of outside groups to shut down the government over Obamacare. But it should be the slogan for his entire speakership.
