On Tuesday at 11:00 a.m., I will be moderating a discussion of poverty with President Obama as part of Georgetown University’s Catholic-Evangelical Leadership Summit on Overcoming Poverty. Also on the panel will be Harvard professor Robert Putnam and American Enterprise Institute president Arthur Brooks. You can watch the livestream below or check back later for video of the event. I invite you to join the discussion by responding to the panel’s thoughts down in the comments section.

We need to make the cause of lifting up the poor central to our politics, not just a concern to which we give very brief and passing notice after tragic episodes such as the recent violence in Baltimore. Please feel free to offer not only your response but also your ideas for what we as a nation should be doing.
