Focusing on the ongoing outrage that is Republican recalcitrance on Capitol Hill.

His “listening sessions” are welcome news.

He has not been afraid to rap the knuckles of the unruly. And that’s going to help things immeasurably in Washington.

Given his personal heritage, it will be easy for his political ambitions to be dismissed as someone who is more like his father and less like someone who has broad enough appeal to be a major party nominee.

His deft action got the ban on gay men and lesbians serving openly in the military repealed.

DHS might have to protect the homeland against terrorist attacks with a majority of its demoralized staff forced to work without pay.

Now, more than ever, we need a Congress willing to do the hard work to get comprehensive immigration reform.

For what it's worth, nothing could be worse than our current failed immigration system. Doing nothing is doing more harm.
