Jon Huntsman is bowing out of the GOP race Monday morning, according to campaign officials. Unlike former front-runners Herman Cain, Michele Bachmann and Newt Gingrich, the former Utah governor never had his shot to lead the race.
Huntsman finished third in the New Hampshire primary last week after focusing much of his candidacy on a strong finish there. He then vowed to take his campaign to South Carolina for this weekend’s primary, but by Sunday decided the better course of action was to bow out, the officials said.
What do you think? Did Huntsman have a shot to win in South Carolina or at least have a strong enough showing to carry his campaign on to Florida at the end of the month? Vote in the poll below, and expound on your vote in the comments.
