Airbus clips commuter plane clip at Dulles airport; no injuries reported

A Lufthansa Airbus that had just pulled away from the gate at Dulles
International Airport shortly after 3 p.m. Friday clipped the tail of a
United commuter plane that had had just landed, according to airport
spokesman Rob Yingling.

There were no injuries and both planes were able to unload their
passengers. The incident took place on a taxi way and air traffic to and
from the airport was not interrupted.

Yingling said the wing tip of the Lufthansa plane and the tail of the commuter plane were damaged.

Ashley Halsey reports on national and local transportation.
