Missing D.C. siblings located

A man who allegedly abducted his two children, prompting an Amber Alert in the District, was arrested early Friday and the youngsters were found unharmed, D.C. police said.

The suspect, Robert Anthony Anderson II, 22, was arrested about 4:30 a.m. in the 1800 block of Kendall Street NE, police said. They said the children, 2-year-old Robert Anthony Anderson III and his 10-month-old sister, Tiara Imani Anderson, were with him.

Police were called to a home in the 2300 block of 15th Street NE for the report of missing children about 6 p.m. Thursday, said Officer Paul Metcalf, a department spokesman. Just before 11 p.m., The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children issued an Amber Alert saying the youngsters had been abducted.

The alert said that the father and children were last seen in a gray, four-door Lincoln with a Virginia license plate. Officials said Thursday that Anderson was possibly armed and wearing a bullet-proof vest. It was not immediately clear whether he had a gun when police arrested him early Friday.
