At least five robberies were reported Sunday afternoon in Northwest Washington, one near Connecticut Avenue involving three people with guns, and two in which getaways were made by bicycle.
The guns were apparently displayed in a robbery around 1 a.m. in the 1900 block of M Street NW, two blocks west of Connecticut, police said.
A robber fled on a bicycle after a robbery about 2:30 p.m. in the 1300 block of 14th Street NW, and a robber was last seen on a bicycle after a robbery about 10 minutes later in the 700 block of Fairmont Street NW, police said.
The first location is near Logan Circle and the second near Howard University. They are about a mile apart, and it was not clear if the same person was involved in both.
Two other robberies were reported at 11th and U Street NW, and in the 1200 block of Crittenden Street NW. The U Street robbery occurred about 1 p.m. and the other one about the same time.
No injuries were reported, and it was not clear what was taken in any of the incidents. .
