A simulated disaster response will be held at RFK Stadium in Southeast Washington Wednesday as part of a city-wide natural disaster exercise.

The District is holding the drill to test the city’s ability to handle a ”catastrophic, mass casualty event,” according to the mayor’s office Web site.

Multiple local and federal agencies are expected to participate in the exercise, which will test services including mobile morgue and mega-shelter operations; distribution of food, medicine and vaccinations; and radio communication.

The simulation will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
