Heavy rains flooded a road Wednesday in the Boyds area of western Montgomery County, trapping two vehicles in separate incidents, Montgomery County fire officials said.

Rescuers were first called to the area of Barnesville and Peach Tree roads about 7:45 p.m., and rescued a driver inside a vehicle. About 20 minutes later, authorities were called to rescue a second driver.

No injuries were reported. Authorities shut down Barnesville Road between Clopper and Peach Tree roads about 8:30 p.m. due to high water.

“Please turn around, don’t drown,” said Asst. Chief Scott Graham, a fire department spokesman.
