The Martin Luther King Jr. memorial on the National Mall technically opens for visitors on Monday, there’s a DC Day on Tuesday, and its dedication is planned for Aug. 28.
But the shroud is down at the memorial, and if you happen to be in the neighborhood, you can get a sneak peek without the crowds. If you go, prepare for a long walk, as Dr. Gridlock warns.
