One killed, four injured in three-car crash in Frederick

One man was killed in a head-on crash in Frederick County that also left three adults and an infant injured Saturday afternoon, according to the Maryland State Police.

Stephen Alan Wisner, 30, of Walkersville, Md., was driving north on Route 194 near Crum Road when he crossed over the center line into southbound traffic around 3 p.m., authorities said. Wisner’s Pontiac Bonneville sideswiped a southbound Chevrolet Impala driven by John A. Early, 46, also of Walkersville, before crashing head-on into a southbound Ford Explorer driven by Pamela J. Dronesburg, 55, of Thurmont, Md., according to police.

Wisner was pronounced dead at the scene. Early and an infant child in Dronesburg’s vehicle were taken to Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown with non-life threatening injuries and were later discharged, police said.

Dronesburg and another passenger, Kimberly J. Dronesburg, 19, also of Thurmont, were flown to a shock trauma center in Baltimore with non-life threatening injuries and were in stable condition as of Saturday night, police said.

Route 194 was closed for approximately four hours Saturday while authorities conducted an investigation of the crash site. The investigation is ongoing, and Maryland State Police ask anyone who might have witnessed the crash to call (301) 600-6168.
