Maryland’s Public Service Commission is hosting the first of two public hearings this month to determine whether Pepco’s storm work in late June complied with state regulations.

Residents are expected to testify at both meetings, the first of which takes place 7 p.m. Tuesday in Rockville. The commission will hold its second hearing Wednesday night in Largo.

Pepco’s parent company, Pepco Holdings, said on Tuesday that it will seek a rate increase this fall. State regulators denied the bulk of a rate hike the utility requested last month.
