A teenager was cut Sunday evening during a dispute in the Metro Center subway station, authorities said.

The 14-year-old was described as conscious and alert when he was taken by ambulance to a hospital.

The incident came shortly before 6 p.m. during an altercation between two male youths on a platform at the station in downtown Washington, said Metro spokesman Dan Stessel.

He said Metro transit police took a youth into custody in connection with the incident.
