Metro officials plan to open a “virtual tunnel” linking the Farragut North and Farragut West stations to make it easier for riders to transfer from the Red Line to the Blue and Orange lines.

Instead of having to ride to Metro Center to transfer lines, riders would be able to to leave the stations and walk about a block along Farragut Square to transfer. They would not be charged for the reentry into the system.
