Woman struck by Ride-On bus and seriously injured

A woman was seriously injured Tuesday night when she was hit by a Ride-On bus in a southwestern portion of Silver Spring, Montgomery County authorities said.

The accident happened at the intersection of East-West Highway and Grubb Road, just north of the District line, about 7:10 p.m., officials said. The victim, described as a woman in her 20s, was taken to a hospital with serious injuries, said Capt. Oscar Garcia, a Montgomery County Fire Department spokesman.

The intersection was shut down as authorities investigated the crash.
