Youthful pedestrians hit in Montgomery

Two 12-year-old girls were struck by a vehicle and injured e Friday night in Gaithersburg, Montgomery County authorities said.

The incident occurred near Route 355 and Lake Forest Blvd. just after 7 p.m., said Capt. Paul Starks, a police spokesman.

Both girls were taken to Children's Hospital. Capt. Oscar Garcia of the county fire and rescue department said they were both in serious condition. .

However full details were not availabe and the matter was under investigation. .
