Gonzaga All-Met guard Nate Britt has committed to play for North Carolina.

Britt, a 6-foot-1 junior, made the announcement Tuesday night toward the end of a school preseason pep rally.

He had also been considering scholarship offers from Maryland, Georgetown, Arizona and Villanova.

Britt, who averaged 13.6 points and 5.2 assists per game last season as a sophomore, leading the Eagles to the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference championship game. He visited Chapel Hill in early September and again for Midnight Madness. Tar Heels Coach Roy Williams made a pair of trips this fall to watch Britt at early-morning workouts.
